Star soprano Julia Bullock gives the world premiere of a new song cycle, written for her by former CSO Sir Georg Solti Conducting Apprentice Matthew Aucoin. Set to the poetry of Chilean writer Raúl Zurita, the piece explores themes of memory, language and spirituality.

After the concert, join the African American Network and Latino Alliance in Grainger Ballroom to celebrate the music.

Specially priced concert tickets start at $40 using promo code AANSEASON. A separate ticket to attend the reception is free.

Before the music begins, enjoy a luxurious dinner at The Richard & Helen Thomas Club. Located on the ninth floor of Symphony Center, this elegant space offers a three-course prix fixe dinner menu and a welcoming atmosphere to connect with fellow patrons.

Reservations to dine at the Thomas Club are required and may be made online through Tock or by contacting Patron Services.

The 2025/26 Civic Season

Once again, the 2025/26 season of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago puts an emphasis on diversity, with a variety of works by women and people of color. Ken-David Masur, Civic’s principal conductor, describes this season’s programming as “normalizing the call to give voice to musicians and composers who perhaps had been neglected.”
