Peter Rothstein He/Him (Director, Producing Artistic Director) Peter is the Producing Artistic Director for Asolo Rep where he directed Twelve Angry Men: A New Musical, Inherit the Wind, Man of La Mancha, Sweeney Todd, and Ragtime. He works extensively as a director of theater, musical theater, opera and new work development. For 25 years Rothstein served as the Founding Artistic Director of Theater Latté Da, a Minneapolis-based company dedicated to new and adventurous music-theater. Other collaborations include the Guthrie Theater, Children’s Theatre Company, Ten Thousand Things, and Seattle’s 5th Avenue, as well as the Minnesota Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Florida Grand Opera, and Chicago Opera Theater. Rothstein is the creator of All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914, which had its Off-Broadway debut in 2018 receiving the Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience and has been seen around the globe airing on PBS. Rothstein served on the board of directors for the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, Alive and Kickin’, and the Twin Cities’ Ivey Awards. He has been a panelist and evaluator for the Playwrights’ Center, the McKnight Foundation, the Minnesota State Arts Board and the National Alliance for Musical Theatre’s Festival of New Musicals. He holds degrees in music and theater from St. John’s University and an MFA in directing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.   

Katie Klauber Moulton – Former President, Colony Beach & Tennis Resort

Katherine (Katie) Klauber Moulton is a highly respected hospitality professional known for her long tenure as President of the Colony Beach & Tennis Resort. She led the resort to numerous impressive awards and hosted notable dignitaries, including President George W. Bush on the eve and morning of 9/11. Katie was awarded the distinction of being the Independent Hotelier of the World in 2001. She has held leadership roles on various local, state, and national boards and committees and received multiple honors recognizing her contributions to her community, business and tourism. Currently, she is a Supreme Court certified mediator and continues to serve the community through pro bono dispute resolution for the 12th Circuit Court, and support for organizations helping our region’s disadvantaged youth and families.

Robert Plunket – AKA Mr. Chatterbox – Sarasota Magazine contributor and local author

James Monaghan - Asolo Rep's Director of New Works and Dramaturg

James’s dramaturgy work for Asolo Rep includes: Good Night, Oscar; The Great Leap; The Sound of Music; Into the Breeches; Murder on the Orient Express; Knoxville & Hood (Workshops); as well as supporting the outdoor season during the pandemic. Prior to returning to the Asolo,  James  served the Programs Director at the Hermitage Artist Retreat, wrote about theatrical design as the Tow Foundation Fellow in the Roundabout Theatre Company Archives, created a one-on-one theatrical experience for the National Theatre of Croatia in Rijeka, and worked in the literary department of PlayCo. He has been a resident artist at the Catwalk Institute, featured in the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas’ newsletter, and directed a digital production of Spring Awakening with the Georgetown Gilbert and Sullivan Society. He holds an MFA from Columbia University and a BFA with honors from NYU and is originally from Houston, TX
