BlacKkKlansman
Sunset Cinema Drive-In Movies
Our Sunset Cinema Drive-In movie series has been a smash hit — so popular, in fact, that we're extending it by adding more dates! We're still scheduling the movies, but mark your calendars for additional nights at the drive-in on Friday, August 21 and Friday, September 18, as well as a new Sunday night series from August 23–September 27 in partnership with the Pruneyard Cinemas. More details will be announced soon!
In the meantime, there are still spaces available to see Spike Lee's modern classic, the piercing dark comedy BlacKkKlansman on Friday, August 14 at 9pm. Provocative and timely, this story of a Black police officer going undercover inside the KKK in the 1970s earned six Academy Award nominations including Best Picture and Best Director.
So come on out to the movies! Entry is just $25 per car, and we have plenty of precautions in place to ensure a safe and fun experience for all. What better way to (finally) get out of the house on a Friday night?

lone some Conversations: How much of sight is invention?
lone some Conversations
If you have been enjoying our weekly live online conversations, we have great news as our current series comes to a close: We will be adding additional conversations every Thursday, bringing in more artists and covering an even wider range of subjects! Our new regular weekly program will be entitled Scratch Space — look for further information as we roll out the schedule in the coming weeks.
This past Thursday, we hosted a deeply fascinating conversation with artist Chloë Bass and photographer Jules Allen entitled How much of sight is invention? — the penultimate event featuring artists from our public art exhibition lone some. You can watch the video of that fascinating discussion here:
Next Thursday, August 6 from 12-1pm, join artist Alyson Provax and publisher Christina Amini of the Susan O'Malley estate for Meeting Where We Are. The two will discuss text-based art in public spaces and meeting the people where they are. RSVP through the button below to have the Zoom link for this free event emailed directly to you.

Pressed Flower Prints
Online Summer Art Class: Pressed Flower Prints
Get inspired by beautiful summer garden blooms and learn to use them for your own stunning pieces of art in an online Pressed Flower Prints class on Wednesday, August 19 from 6-8:30pm
In this workshop, you'll learn how to combine dynamic textures of pressed flowers with the fluidity of watercolor to capture the spirit and personality of the blossoms, while developing your own visual language of printmaking and brush work. When pressed, the colors from flowers and plants turn into natural dyes that can create abstract shapes on the page.
Artist Dana Harel will demonstrate how combining this process with inking the leaves can offers array of ways to compose beautiful artwork. This class has been perfectly adapted for online learning; just download the list of supplies and sign up below!
