Registration open for Taproot Theatre Acting Studio class that produces West Coast premiere of Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins

SEATTLE, WA — September 12, 2025 — Taproot Theatre’s Fall Acting Classes offer three exciting holiday showcase classes for youth, including a new class that will produce the West Coast premiere of Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins. By local playwright Scott Zenreich and based on the Caldecott Award-winning book, Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins is a delightful play for children and families that celebrates the magic of Hanukkah.

Holiday Showcase: Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins | Ages 7–17

In this session, students will work together to produce the West Coast premiere of Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins by local playwright Scott Zenreich, whom they will be able to meet. Students will finely tune their theatrical performance skills and build an ensemble while learning to take artistic risks. Experience is not required; students will audition on the first day of class and are expected to be at all “reHershels.” Students will be amazed at what they’ve accomplished when it all comes together in a final performance in Taproot's Jewell Mainstage Theatre.

Dates: Thursdays, October 9–December 9, 2025 (no class 11/27)
Time: 6:00 PM–8:30 PM
Tech rehearsal: Monday, December 8 from 6:00 PM–8:30 PM
