Calling all jazz artists from the UK & beyond, join Manchester's longest running music festival. MJF champion artists playing original work – especially those living and working in the north west of England. They are brave in our programming, constantly on the lookout for up and coming talent, and often give a platform to new and surprising music.

The Oram Awards is a platform to elevate the work and voices of women and gender non-conforming artists innovating in sound, music and related technology. Named after Daphne Oram, one of the founding directors of the legendary BBC Radiophonic Workshop. LANDSCAPES | COMPOUNDS 2026 are holding an open call for fixed-media sound pieces and audio-visual works. Categories include stereo sound pieces, binaural sound pieces, multichannel sound pieces and fixed-media audiovisual works. For audio-visual works, the role of sound within the work is valued as a priority. Priority is also given to emerging artists and women artists.

Fully funded VFA Sonic Connections residency for sound artists, performers, curators, designers, and professionals legally residing in eligible Creative Europe countries outside Italy. The 2027 Sonic Connections residency will select up to four participants for a one-month residency from March 1 to March 31, 2027. The program supports site-specific sonic research, experimental music, sound art, and performance projects developed in response to the former silk mill and warehouse spaces of Villa Filanda Antonini. Support includes accommodation, travel allowance, a €1,000 stipend, mentoring, and production support determined case by case.

The Youth Music Awards is the biggest night in grassroots music, and for the past six years we have celebrated in London.

Next Steps by We Make Culture brings together a cohort of artists, producers, songwriters and bands aged 18-25, offering mentoring, development funding and a community of musicians to help you take your next step in music. Each year, they support seven musicians with a tailored package of support worth up to £1,000, alongside one-to-one mentoring, workshops and opportunities to learn from and alongside other artists.

The Emergents programme is part of the Drake Music Collective – their professional development programme for Disabled musicians. This year, they will select 5 Emergent artists. The main programme runs from January 2027 to May 2027, with a showcase event in October 2027. They are committing to awarding at least 3 bursaries to people from the global majority.

The PPL Momentum Music Fund by PRS offers grants of £5k-£15k for UK based artists/bands to break through to the next level of their careers. Activities eligible for support include recording, touring and marketing.

The Early Career Promoter Fund by PRS recognises the vital role independent promoters play in supporting the talent pipeline across England, and offers grant funding up to £3,500 and capacity building support, with the aim of bolstering the local, regional and national ecosystems.

Jazz North announces the latest round of New Northern with the goal to assist northern jazz promoters in programming emerging northern jazz talent in their clubs, venues or festivals. With support act slots dwindling and touring becoming more challenging than ever, New Northern is designed as a small cash injection (up to £1000) to help jazz promoters take risks on booking emerging artists in the difficult financial climate.
