In the IVCI’s third annual free community concert, Bloomington native and GRAMMY®-nominated jazz violinist Sara Caswell leads her quartet in an electrifying night of jazz and improvisation at the historic Madam Walker Theatre.
This performance is free to the public, though tickets
are required.
The Rosamunde Quartet makes its Indianapolis debut in this co-presentation with Ensemble Music Society. The quartet consists of 2022 IVCI Jury Member Noah Bendix-Balgley (First Concertmaster, Berlin Philharmonic), violinist Shanshan Yao (Kammerakademie Potsdam), violist Teng Li (Principal, Chicago Symphony Orchestra) and cellist/Indy native Nathan Vickery (New York Philharmonic).
As the first Gold Medalist in IVCI history, Mihaela Martin holds a special place in the organization’s legacy. She joins IVCI Pianist Chih-Yi Chen in a recital entitled Dances and Romances, exploring the rich intersection of rhythmic folk traditions plus expressions of passion and desire. The IVCI and the American Piano Awards co-present this recital featuring 2022 Gold Medalist Sirena Huang and 2017 APA Winner Drew Petersen. The duo features the world premiere performance of a new work by Daniel Bernard Roumain, commissioned by the IVCI and Sirena Huang.

2014 Silver Medalist/popular bluegrass fiddler Tessa Lark joins forces with Time for Three’s Charles Yang (violin/vocals) and From the Top’s Peter Dugan (piano) for an evening of classical, bluegrass, jazz, and pop fusion in the intimate setting of The Cabaret, with catering available for purchase by The Jazz Kitchen. Patrons can reserve tables of two, four and six for an additional $10 per seat.
