Summer & Collegiate Intensives

Summer & Collegiate Intensives
June 21 - July 30, 2021

In February, we were thrilled to announce our guest faculty for summer 2021, a prestigious group of world-renowned artists including Paul Boos, Lauren Fadeley, Kathryn Morgan, Jared Redick, and Francis Veyette. This group of highly accomplished industry professionals represents a broad spectrum of disciplines, approaches, and professional and collegiate institutions. Together with our resident artistic leadership, this team of internationally renowned guest faculty are eager to share their wisdom and experience with the next generation of dance artists at Cincinnati Ballet in summer 2021. To learn more about this season's guest faculty, visit our Summer or Collegiate Intensive webpages and click on their picture to read their full bio.

Our intensive programs continue to attract ambitious young dancers from across the nation and filled in record time this season. At this time, we’ve reached capacity in all sessions of Summer Intensive and Collegiate Intensive but we continue to explore options to expand enrollment potential. If you are interested in summer intensives at Cincinnati Ballet and are not yet on the waiting list, we encourage you to sign up soon using the link in your acceptance letter

Youth Summer Programs

Youth Summer Intensive
June 28 - July 23, 2021

Registration for Youth Summer Intensive is now open to the public. If you’re planning to join us this summer, we encourage you to register early to secure your preferred session. It’s going to be a great summer—we hope you’ll join us!

Kids Dance Camp
June 21 - 25, July 26 - 30, and August 2 - 6, 2021

We're thrilled to announce the return of Kids Dance camp for summer 2021. This beloved summer program for dancers ages 5-8 offers week-long camps that explore dance, music and art through age-appropriate ballet classes, crafts, and other activities led by professional faculty. Registration will open soon, but in the meantime, you can mark your calendars for our scheduled weeks of camp!

Parent Observation

Thanks to all the parents and guardians who logged on to observe from afar during our first ever fully virtual Parent Observation Week. In a year of distancing, it was nice to come together and share a Cincinnati Ballet class experience with you. We hope you’re as proud of your dancers and the progress they’ve made this year as we are!

Mercy Health

With more and more of our students practicing from their home studios or bedrooms or living rooms, our partners at Mercy Health, the Official Sports Medicine Providers of Cincinnati Ballet, wanted to be sure your Dancers’ First Aid Kits were stocked appropriately!

In addition to adhesive bandages, scissors and an ice pack, be sure you have blister padding, antibiotic ointment, a compression bandage and elastic adhesive tape on-hand at home should you need it. And as always, should your dancer experience any aches or pains, you can consult with the Ballet’s Athletic Trainers (Kelly Jo Rodrigo and Carolyn Meder). Call or text 513-490-1599 to chat with a trainer and get scheduled with a convenient appointment.

PTD Winter Showcase

The Academy was proud to host the Professional Training Division's annual Winter Showcase this past weekend, an opportunity to feature these remarkably talented young dancers on the cusp of professional careers. The virtual event featured a wide array of works from beloved and well-known classical ballets as well as an original work choreographed by Cincinnati Ballet Soloist David Morse.

Thank you to the many supporters who joined us for the live virtual event on Saturday! For those who missed it (or who want to revisit it!), a recording of the performance will be shared later this week.

Absence Reporting Reminder

It’s more important this year than ever that absences are reported, particularly when due to illness, so the Academy can follow-up with families to determine when sick students can safely return to in-person classes. It’s been a few months, so we thought a reminder of how this all works might be helpful. First, don’t forget that students must stay home from class if they’ve been ill within the prior 72 hours and must be cleared by an Academy representative before returning to in-person class.

For absence reporting, please connect with the Academy Administrative Office through one of the following channels:

Absence Notification Online Form
By phone: 513.562.1111 (Option 1)

Make-up class sign-ups or other requests for Zoom class details must be received no later than 3:30pm day-of for Monday-Friday classes or 3:30pm on Friday for weekend classes. Thank you for all that you do to help keep us informed and keep our Academy community safe and healthy!
