Are you a fan of musical theatre? How about improvised comedy? If the answer to either (or both) of these questions is YES, you won't want to miss two upcoming events with the cast of Broadway's Next Hit Musical!
On Thursday, May 2 at 6pm, learn the ropes in The Art of Improvisation. You'll explore theatre exercises and games, illustrating the basic philosophy and rules of improvisation. This workshop can be taken for fun, as an extension to current theatrical training, or as a way to look at where these skills can enhance your personal and professional interactions. All skill levels welcome!
On Friday, May 3 at 8pm, Broadway's Next Hit Musical takes the Carriage House Theatre stage -- but YOU create the show! Come with ideas for titles of showtunes, and these master performers will create an improvised show based entirely on audience material. This spontaneous evening of music and laughter has to be seen to be believed!

You'll hear works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schumann, Cecile Chaminade, Mary Finlayson, and others, along with insightful commentary about the lives of these great talents. After the performance, enjoy a talk-back with the Trio's Russell Hancock, where he will provide additional insights on the pieces you've just heard.

Join us on Monday, May 20 at 6:30pm for an evening of exploration and self-expression as you learn various forms of Afro Pop Dance!
You'll warm up with traditional Ghanaian games that create a sense of community, break inhibitions, and enhance enthusiasm; then, you'll learn a variety of African dance styles and moves, coming away with choreography that you can practice at home.
Instructor Philip Amo Agyapong is a trained dancer and instructor who teaches at University of San Francisco, Mills College, and the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts. This is sure to be a fun and lively workshop, so don't miss it!
