Can't decide whether tickets to Carmen or Maria Stuarda (Mary, Queen of Scots) would make a better gift? We make it easy — both! Opera Duo packages start at $76 and include both productions, and can be purchased online or through the box office.

A dangerous combination of a sultry gypsy, a conflicted soldier and a dashing matador collide in a new production set in the tumultuous years leading up to the Spanish Civil War. Bizet's story of passionate, destructive love heats up the stage this winter, but tickets are selling quickly!

If you've visiting the Edmonton Opera box office in the Tix on the Square building, be sure to take some extra time to check out the local wares in the TIX shop — lots of artisans make beautiful, interesting items in Edmonton! TIX has also been posting some early gift guide ideas, for anyone in your life, on their Facebook page.

Give someone the gift of a good story — in the form of opera — for the holidays this year! Gift certificates can be used for any production, in any season (our 2016/17 season will be announced soon)! Additionally, gift certificates can be applied to Opera Brunch purchases.

Both the characters and artists in the costume drama Maria Stuarda (Mary, Queen of Scots) are remarkable — two monarchs in an explosive rivalry and two sopranos currently experiencing acclaimed careers. Don't miss your chance to experience the Alberta premiere of Donizetti's bel canto masterpiece!

Have your arias with a side of eggs and a view of the river valley during Opera Brunch, a performance precursor to this winter's production of Carmen. Tickets for Carmen brunch (Jan. 17) or Maria Stuarda brunch (April 3) are available.

Help us provide arts education to youth of all ages on Giving Tuesday! For every $20 gift made on Dec. 1, EO will provide a ticket for Carmen to a youth in need, and for every $100, tickets for a family of four to experience the magic of opera at the Jubilee. All of the money raised goes towards Edmonton Opera's outreach and education initiatives throughout the season.

The Edmonton Opera chorus is performing at the World AIDS Day event on Dec. 1, 7 p.m., hosted by JTMF West on the west lawn of the Alberta Legislature. It's free, will feature some gorgeous music (and hot chocolate) and provide a moment for reflection, with the High Level Bridge lit red in the background.
