HILARY KOLE PLAYS BOND GIRL

THE MUSIC OF JAMES BOND WITH HILARY KOLE

Boettcher Concert Hall

NOV 28

Vocalist Hilary Kole plays Bond girl as the Colorado Symphony performs the iconic music of James Bond. Monty Norman's "James Bond Theme" started it all in Dr. No, the first Bond film in 1962, and the sleek, sexy melody continues to seduce in the 24th Bond film, Spectre. The Colorado Symphony will perform several works from the films, including Academy Award®-nominated songs such as "Live and Let Die" and "For Your Eyes Only."

BERLIOZ SYMPHONIE FANTASTIQUE

Boettcher Concert Hall

NOV 20-21

Hector Berlioz's early Romantic tour de force, Symphonie fantastique, headlines the evening, telling the bizarre story of an artist in five movements: His love for a young woman sweeps from joy to jealousy into an opium-fueled dream of a witches' sabbath. The program begins with a pair of inimitable Stravinsky pieces that effortlessly mesh menace and beauty: The Colorado Symphony Chorus sings with the orchestra on his Symphony of Psalms, then violinist Philippe Quint performs Violin Concerto in D major on a 1708 Stradivarius.

ALL BEETHOVEN FEATURING SYMPHONY NO. 3 "EROICA"

Boettcher Concert Hall

DEC 4-6

The annual winter tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven opens with the little-played overture to the 1801 ballet, The Creatures of Prometheus. Beethoven's Classical roots are at the heart of his Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major performed by pianist Andrew Staupe, who cemented his status as one of the country's top young pianists with a critically acclaimed Carnegie Hall debut in 2012. Beethoven's famed Symphony No. 3, most commonly known as "Eroica," was groundbreaking for its musical range when it premiered in the early 19th century. Audience-favorite Rossen Milanov returns to conduct this exciting program.
