Welcome Academy Families!

The 2018 – 2019 Academy Year is already off to a great start and we’re thrilled to welcome both new and returning students to the Ballet Center this season! The Academy’s monthly newsletter is an essential resource for staying connected to all the exciting events and offers coming your way this season so be sure to keep an eye out the first Monday of each month for the latest in Academy news!

Academy Open House

On Sunday, September 16, the Academy is opening its doors to the public for our first-ever Open House! The free event is an opportunity to discover all the Academy has to offer from trial classes, mini-performances, workshops, activities and more! With event activities geared toward prospective new students, current Otto M. Budig Academy students win a prize if they bring a friend to introduce them to the Academy.

Young Performers Auditions

On Saturday, September 8, Cincinnati Ballet is hosting Young Performers auditions for the upcoming productions of Peter Pan and Aladdin. Students must be at least 8 years old to audition. Audition details are available on the Academy Resources webpage. Online audition registration is now available! Pre-registration is open through September 6.

Staying Connected

Remind Notifications

The Academy will continue using Remind this season in addition to regular email communication to send families short reminders, emergency alerts and other notifications via text, push notification or email. All Main and Professional Training Division accounts have been created. Children’s Division accounts will be set up next week. For any questions, please contact the Academy office.

Parents Association

The Academy Parents Association has a great series of community and educational events lined up for the season and is kicking things off with an Academy Parent Happy Hour at Rhinegeist on Thursday, September 27 at 6 pm. There’s no need to RSVP, just join us! Membership in the Parents Association is free and all parents/guardians of enrolled students become members upon registration. Stay tuned for more information on Parents Association events and activities in the weeks to come!

Absence Reporting

Students should attend the class(es) for which they are registered. In the event they need to miss a class, please contact the Ballet Center Front Desk at 513.621.5219 or email cbacademy@cballet.org. Students are encouraged to make up missed classes in another class in their same level or the level below in order to keep pace with the momentum of Academy curriculum and maximize their student experience. 

Professional Training Division

The Academy's second class of Professional Training Division students has been hard at work since early August. The PTD program continues to grow this season with dancers from 9 states including returning dancers, 2018 Summer Intensive participants, and four young men. These talented dancers will be performing in upcoming Academy events and select Cincinnati Ballet company productions throughout the 2018-2019 Season.

Adult Division

The Academy's Adult Dance and Fitness Division is here to partner with you in meeting your fitness goals. From ballet classes to a uniquely designed barre workout, there's something to inspire the dancer in everyone!

Ballet Moves

Did you know that Ballet Moves is beginning its sixth season? Ballet Moves is a program designed to foster a love of dance and creative expression for dancers with varying abilities.
