The 2017-18 season opens with Mozart's exuberant Jupiter Symphony and Requiem featuring State Street Ballet with world premiere choreography and Symphony Chorus.  

Guitar virtuoso Pablo Sáinz Villegas returns for a sizzling program of Spanish music featuring Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez, and selections by de Falla, Bizet and Piazzolla.

The Santa Barbara Symphony will accompany the big screen as you follow the journey of the The Red Violin. This 2-hour program features John Corigliano's Academy Award-winning score and violinist Lara St. John.

Join us for the centennial celebration of the birth of American legend: Leonard Bernstein. This tribute features Candide, Mass, Fancy Free, and West Side Story, plus works from American composers Aaron Copland and Robin Frost.

Pianist Alexander Romanovsky shows off his skill and bravura in Liszt's demanding Piano Concerto #1. Also featuring Tchaikovsky's spectacular Symphony #5 and Britten's The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra.

Exerting a hypnotic hold on listeners, Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 6 "Tragic" is an immensely powerful work for nearly 100 musicians and is truly symphonic music at its best. Performed with no intermission.

A fantastic showcase of the violin closes out the 2017-18 season. Acclaimed violinist Anne Akiko Meyers and Symphony concertmaster Jessica Guideri joins forces for Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Violins, plus Barber's Violin Concerto and Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade.
