ENJOY A TASTE OF SUMMER

Get a "taste" of your favorite movies and musicals this week as the Grant Park Music Festival celebrates the music of the silver screen on Wednesday, followed by a weekend of Broadway showstoppers featuring stars from Broadway.

Concerts start at 8:00 this week during Taste of Chicago. Please allow extra time for travel and expect unusually heavy traffic and delays. Portions of Columbus Drive will be closed.

Support the Festival when you order a One Night Member Pass and get a reserved seat up close to the stage for as little as $26!

Or select four concerts with a Choose Your Own package for only $96 and experience great music, performed by the world-class Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus in the out-of-this-world setting of Millennium Park.

It's our membership program, with tax-deductible One Night Passes and Choose Your Own packages, that help support the Festival's mission of keeping concerts accessible for all. From free concerts in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion to our education and community engagement initiatives and our live radio broadcasts, we reach nearly one million Chicagoans and visitors each summer.

FESTIVAL NEWS

BROADWAY'S
LERNER AND LOEWE

We asked pre-concert lecturer Gary Zabinski what sets Lerner and Loewe apart from other songwriting teams. "That's easy," he said. "It's their simple hummable tunes with just the spot-on lyric for the character in that moment. Just the right amount of confidence, without dissolving into caricature."

Discover the Lerner and Loewe magic in I Could Have Danced All Night on Friday and Saturday night as the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus and Broadway stars Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid), Ben Crawford (Phantom of the Opera) and Ryan Silverman (Sideshow and Chicago) showcase Alan Jay Lerner's witty and entertaining lyrics paired with Frederick Loewe's music.

Join Zabinski and conductor Kevin Stites with Ben Crawford on Friday and Ryan Silverman on Saturday for  pre-concert lectures at 7 PM in the Chase Promenade North tent, then enjoy a musical tribute to one of the most revered duos from Broadway's Golden Age.

A NIGHT OF MUSIC
OF THE SILVER SCREEN

Join us tomorrow for a night of thrilling movie music as the Grant Park Orchestra brings your favorite films to life! This year, the Festival showcases movie scores that are loved by generations of movie-goers because the music played a significant role in their success.

Audiences will hear John Williams' popular Raiders March from Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark, along with the soaring sounds of George Gershwin's jazz-influenced orchestral show piece, An American in Paris.

Guest conductor Vinay Parameswaran curated the program which also includes orchestral suites from The Adventures of Robin Hood and Lieutenant Kije, Parade of the Charioteers from Ben-Hur and the overture to Orson Welles' classic Citizen Kane.

In each film, the music played a major role in the movie's popularity. Bring back the memories that made these films your favorites by experiencing them in a whole new way.
