Girls Like Us

Featuring the music of Carole King, Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell

June 15 – 25, 2017 | Howard Drew Theatre

The ground-breaking music of Carole King, Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell comes to the Omaha Community Playhouse stage with Girls Like Us, featuring Laura Freeman, Beckie Menzie and Marianne Murphy Orland. Inspired by the book Girls Like Us by Sheila Weller, these three women blend their unique performing styles into a delightful evening dedicated to showcasing the music and stories of three singers who dared to break tradition and become what none had been before them — female confessors in song, rock superstars and adventurers of heart and soul. Songs include: “Big Yellow Taxi,” “Natural Woman,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “You're So Vain” and more.

Ladies of the '80s Dance Workshop

Mix up your girls’ night out with an '80s inspired dance class and Rock of Ages! Leg warmers are optional, but workout clothes are mandatory. This is a ladies only event.

6:00 p.m. | Learn a Rock of Ages dance number from the show’s director/choreographer, Kimberly Faith Hickman.
7:00 p.m. | Grab a beverage from the bar with your complimentary drink ticket.
7:30 p.m. | See Rock of Ages on the mainstage! Class attendees can purchase a discounted show ticket ($30) to the performance by calling Jana at (402) 553-4890, ext. 147.

Bubbly with Barbra

Reservations Now Available

Reservations are now open for Bubbly with Barbra, an exciting evening featuring the talented Camille Metoyer Moten and friends in tribute to Barbra Streisand on March 31, 2017. Enjoy Streisand-themed hors d’oeuvres and bubbly before the performance and a dessert reception and coffee bar following. This event is a fundraiser to support the Omaha Community Playhouse’s season productions and programs. Don’t delay!
