Dear Friend,
It’s been wonderful to see so many of you at performances of Rent! It closes July 10 and is selling fast, so get your tickets now!
After that, we hope you will join us for JAW New Play Festival, running from July 22-24. Artistic teams, including playwrights, directors, and actors, will come together and rehearse four incredible plays that are in development — some of which may go on to receive World Premiere productions right here at PCS! In addition, we will have our Teen Playwrights Showcase and a variety of Press Play events featuring dynamic local artists, with dance, live music, visual art, and more!
We’ve got an amazing 2022-2023 season lined up for you, starting in August with tick, tick … BOOM!
We hope you’ll consider purchasing a season subscription, which comes with great benefits! You can learn more here.
We are truly grateful for your support — thank you! Please reach out if you’d like to chat and learn more about all of the incredible shows and events happening at PCS.
It’s been an incredible season and, as we continue to ride the waves in the pandemic recovery process, I want to thank you for your ongoing support! Starting with the solo show Frida… A Self Portrait and working up to the big musical of Rent, the 2021-2022 season has been a feat, and I’m so proud of the gorgeous, important work on and off stage that has served our region, creating a space where everyone can see themselves on stage!
Next up is the JAW New Play Festival, which will contain arresting new plays from writers Tyler Andrew Jones, Larry Owens, Anya Pearson, Leah Nanoko Winkler, and four JAW Teen Playwrights. From music, to family drama, to imaginative dreamscapes — as well as incredible community events in the lobby — the lineup is going to be fantastic! I hope you’ll join us from July 22-24.
Also, please join us for Happy Hour in July with Interim Managing Director Liam Kaas-Lentz to discuss his new role in the company and what he’s looking forward to next season!
Best,
Marissa

The Armory, PCS’s home, was the first building on the National Register of Historic Places to achieve a LEED Platinum rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. We’re excited to share that Portland Center Stage has also earned a 2022 Platinum Seal of Transparency with Candid! Candid, which merged with GuideStar and Foundation Center in 2019, connects nonprofits, foundations, and individuals to the resources they need to do good through research, collaboration, and training. Our Community Values
Theater often brings productive discomfort to the surface. Portland Center Stage is committed to grappling with that discomfort, on and off the stage, and we invite members of our community to participate in that growth process with us. Our goal is to co-create safety for our community by identifying and interrupting instances of racism and all forms of oppression, when we witness them, through specific actions rooted in the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA).
