The Party You Don't Want to Miss

Carriage House Announcement Party

Our Carriage House Concert Announcement Party is coming up on Wednesday, May 22. This annual bash is a great tradition of meeting and mingling with fellow music lovers over drinks, appetizers, and good times. It's also where we'll reveal the full lineup of our 2019-2020 Carriage House Concert Series and give attendees the first chance to get tickets.

But this fabulous party is for Montalvo donors only! If you are a donor, be sure to check your email for our invitation (or call Chris Wilcox at 408-961-5849 to RSVP by phone). If you're not a donor, now is the time to join. Many of our concerts will sell out, and non-donors will have to wait for up to a week before being able to purchase tickets.

Last Chance: Kokedama

Kokedama

It's your last chance to register for our upcoming Ikebana class featuring a new take on the traditional Japanese Bonsai designs: Kokedama is this Sunday, April 28 at 10am -- but registration must close on Friday afternoon!

In Kokedama, a plant’s root is wrapped in moss and bound by threads (“koke” means moss and “dama” means ball). This simple sculptural art form encapsulates the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, which is often defined as an appreciation of the imperfections of nature and the transience of natural beauty. The workshop includes a historical and cultural overview of the art form as well as guided instruction on how to create your own arrangement from Ikebana teacher Yuko Tiernan.
