We have two very special exhibits opening on June 14. This week we'll feature one and next week, the other. Who's excited?
The Cowgirl Who Became a Justice: Sandra Day O'Connor
Prior to Sandra Day O'Connor, no other female in the United States had been given as heavy and as public a yoke to carry in representing women, the West and in turn the best interests of the nation. President Ronald Reagan appointed Justice Sandra Day O'Connor to the United States Supreme Court in 1981; she was the first woman to serve on the Supreme Court since its inception in the late 1700s.
Next week the Museum will be FREE during our exhibit turnover. We will also have limited hours:
May 29-June 1 (Tuesday-Friday) 10am-5pm
June 2 and 3 (Saturday and Sunday) Closed

Every museum has objects that are "found in the collections". Many times these found in collections items remain a mystery, but that's where you come in. If you have any information please let our collections staff know: themuseum@nmjc.edu.
