Bravo! Vail Welcomes New Executive Director Caitlin Murray

We are proud to welcome Caitlin Murray as our new Executive Director, effective June 4. Caitlin succeeds Jennifer Teisinger, who served in the role for over two years and stepped down for personal reasons.

Caitlin is well-known to the Festival, as she previously served as Vice President of Development. In that role, she contributed to the creation of the residency partnership with Academy of St Martin in the Fields; launched the Luis D. Juarez Music Award, which provides financial assistance to local music students; and helped build the foundation for the Classically Uncorked Series. Murray comes to Bravo! Vail from Colorado Public Radio, where she was Director of Leadership Gifts.

"Bravo! Vail is an organization that I care about deeply and have been involved with for nearly a decade. The Festival represents the highest standards of artistic excellence, and we are proud to host some of the world's greatest orchestras and musicians in an unparalleled setting each year. I look forward to reconnecting with all of the extraordinary people who make this Festival possible," she said.

Bravo! Vail Artistic Director

Over four days in late May, I had a completely inspiring experience leading the very first Piano Intensive at the Tippet Rise Arts Center, which is set on 11,500 acres of a working ranch in Montana, north of Yellowstone National Park. The purpose of the Intensive was to “provide an intense, short-term, immersive experience combining music, art, books, films, poetry, and dialogue with a goal to absorb the wisdom provided by all,“ which I found both fascinating and fulfilling. Fellow pianist Orion Weiss and I had the honor of exploring and coaching with two wonderfully thoughtful young artists, Chelsea Wang (who was a Bravo! Vail Piano Fellow last year) and Albert Cano Smit. It really was an out of this world experience, and Albert Cano Smit is very special – it will be great to have him in Vail as one of our Piano Fellows this summer!
