THIS WEEK | CHRISTIAN MCBRIDE
Four-time GRAMMY-winning bassist/ composer, and the host of NPR's Jazz Night in America returns to the SFJAZZ Center for five uniquely curated shows over four days.
Panamanian-born pianist and longtime member of Wayne Shorter's quartet, Danilo Pérez celebrates Thelonious Monk's centennial as well as the 20th anniversary of his masterful album Panamonk, a project that mixed Monk's timeless compositions with the rhythms and influences of Pérez' Caribbean upbringing.
The most celebrated European pianist/composer in contemporary classical music, Einaudi has contributed to the major soundtracks including Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan and Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar. The Italian pianist performs music from Elements, a project for piano, electronics, and orchestra with a visual spectacle to accompany the show. Highly recommended for fans of Nils Frahm and Philip Glass.
Please note that on November 1st, the SFJAZZ app will be retired. We recommend that all users of the SFJAZZ app begin using the new mobile responsive SFJAZZ.org website for all ticket purchases, and any information regarding shows, membership and education events.
