Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring

FEB 16 – 18

Boettcher Concert Hall

Music Director Brett Mitchell conducts this program of distinctly Russian flair beginning with Rachmaninoff's dynamic, impassioned Piano Concerto No. 2, featuring Kirill Gerstein. Rounding out the evening is Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, famously known for the riot that ensued at it's debut in Paris (1913). However, you are likely familiar with it's more current use in Disney's Fantasia (1940)!
