Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. Matthew Passion is widely considered one of the crowning artistic achievements of Western civilization. His masterful musical interpretation of the Last Supper and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ puts chapters 26 and 27 of the Gospel of Matthew to music. The Symphony’s production is unusual in that it is a full staging of the work with the Colorado Symphony Chorus and Colorado Children's Chorale. In addition, tenor Nicholas Phan takes on the part of the Evangelist and baritone Hadleigh Adams performs the role of Jesus.
