Welcome back!

After 18 months without field trips under the dome we can't wait to watch students experience Science World in person again!

Additionally, we would like to thank all of the teachers and students who participated in online programming during this period: Tech-Up workshops, Online Science Adventures, and Scientists and Innovators in Schools. We have learned a lot through piloting, testing and evaluating, and responding to your feedback and we are excited to continue to deliver online programs to your classrooms into the future.

This month's newsletter is jammed full of great opportunities. Scroll down to find out about:

  • Applying for our Class Bursary
  • Free online programs for Science Literacy Week
  • Teacher's Night Out October 4
  • Workshops and other events (for teachers and youth)

Find out about future Science leaders

Science World is celebrating the success of Robin Yadav, a participant in Science World’s Future Science Leaders (FSL) program, who received a Schulich Leaders Scholarship. “I decided to take the skills I was learning in FSL and build software that uses deep learning to identify and locate fire. The hard skills—like robotics, microcontrollers, and soldering—enabled me to do this. But the soft skills helped too. I learned collaboration, teamwork and problem-solving, which guided me through the challenges I faced throughout my projects.” Read Robin’s full story

Future Science Leaders is holding an online information session for teachers, students and parents on November 15. Join us to find out more about this fantastic program for Metro Vancouver high school students!
