Our brochures were mailed out to schools on October 8^th and from this date PDF’s of the brochure will also be available on line for downloading.

We had added more schools concerts for 2013 to meet demand so I hope more people are able to successfully book in to join us next year!

Sinfonietta Open Workshop

Bring your students to the Eugene Goossens Hall , ABC Studios Ultimo

Thurs 15 Nov from 1.30-4pm

for a composition lesson with a difference.

Richard Gill will be looking at counterpoint in the music of Bach and the successful Sinfonietta applicants who will be brought in from around the country.

Always a treat, we have moved the workshop this year to the afternoon to make it easier for senior students to attend.

Richard Gill Honoured

In our final Meet the Music concert for 2012 a new work, Symphony, by Barry Conyngham will be performed.

This was commissioned to celebrate Richard Gills 20^th Anniversary as the Artistic Director of the Education Program. The concert will be conducted by Richard himself and the focus of the concert will be a celebration in honour of this auspicious event.

Not a regular at Meet the Music?

Well please come along as our guest!  On Thursday 8 November we invite teachers who are not currently bringing their students to the Meet the Music Series to come as our guests and see Richard Gill lead the Sydney Symphony through a repertoire of old and new including Debussy’s First Rhapsody and Brett Deans extraordinary concerto Ariel’s Music will be played by clarinettist David Thomas.

The concert will also include the world premier of Conyngham's Symphony, commissioned by the Sydney Symphony to honour Richard Gill, and Debussy’s glorious Iberia with the exotic rhythms and seductive colours suggested by its title.

We would love as many people to be at this event as possible in recognition of the extraordinary contribution he has made to the Sydney Symphony’s Education program.
