Have you ever thought about volunteering for the Opera? Calgary Opera is looking for enthusiastic people to volunteer at Canada’s ONLY outdoor summer opera festival! It’s your chance to be a part of the action, and experience opera in a completely new way.
Opera in the Village takes place on RiverWalk Plaza in East Village on the banks of the beautiful Bow River from August 14th - 23rd, 2014. Come join Calgary Opera in putting on this unique theatrical experience featuring 8 full performances of Candide, matinee performances of the family friendly Hansel & Gretel, circus acts by Green Fools Theatre, food trucks, an opera singing competition and much more!
We have hundreds of volunteer shifts to be covered. These are a few examples of where we need assistance:
- Ushering in our 900 seat tent
- Hosting patrons in our VIP area
- Site-Walkers to help provide information to our guests
- Selling drink tickets in the Big Rock Big Top - our outdoor beer gardens!
- Parking assistance
- Environmental Sustainability Monitors
