Afro Pop Dance
Express Yourself: Afro Pop Dance
Join us on Monday, May 20 at 6:30pm for an evening of exploration and self-expression as you learn various forms of Afro Pop Dance!
You'll warm up with traditional Ghanaian games that create a sense of community, break inhibitions, and enhance enthusiasm; then, you'll learn a variety of African dance styles and moves, coming away with choreography that you can practice at home.
Instructor Philip Amo Agyapong is a trained dancer and instructor who teaches at University of San Francisco, Mills College, and the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts. This is sure to be a fun and lively workshop, so don't miss it!

Our 2019 Presidential Volunteer Service Award Winners
Thanks to our Volunteers!
Montalvo's volunteers are one of the cornerstones of our success. Last week, we honored 76 of our most dedicated volunteers with a celebration of the "100 Club." These generous members of our community invested at least 100 hours of volunteer service in us this the past year.
In addition, we presented the Presidential Service Award, a nationally-recognized achievement program, to four Gold recipients (500+ hours) and 19 Silver recipients (250+ hours). The remaining 53 honorees went over 100 hours.
Whether it was through being a docent for our Bruce Munro at Montalvo: Stories in Light exhibition, assisting with our Performing Arts Series for Students, or planting and maintaining our beautiful gardens, this group of amazing volunteers put in more than 12,000 hours this year alone.
If you're looking to do good work for a good cause and would like to offer your expertise to our volunteer team, click the button below to see how to get started.
Three cheers to our volunteers!

Cheers!
For the Love of Wine
Montalvo isn't a winery, but we have developed some truly outstanding partnerships with winemakers and distributors that we would like to share with you!
On Sunday, May 5, join Master Sommelier Robert Bath along with Lexington & Mindego Ridge Vineyard for an exclusive tasting seminar that explores the intricacies of New World wines of California vs. Old World wines of France. Two seminar times are offered (12pm and 2pm), and 100% of the proceeds from your registration will go to Montalvo! Just enter the access code "Montalvo" when you sign up through the invitation below.
Wine lovers from around the South Bay also came up big for us last weekend as we were the recipients of more than $10,000 in donations from Total Wine & More, thanks to a partnership with the grand opening of their Stevens Creek location. Huge thanks to them, and to everyone who came out to support Montalvo by stocking up on wine!
Lastly, you won't want to miss Silicon Valley's premier culinary event benefiting Montalvo, our Food & Wine Classic on Sunday, September 8 at 4pm
This annual party gathers together dozens of the best restaurants and wineries in Northern California for a delicious feast for the senses. You'll enjoy our beautiful Villa both inside and out, bid on amazing auction items, and discover unforgettable flavors.
The list of confirmed restaurants and wineries is constantly growing, so be sure to check back at the site as the event approaches. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
