Academy Newsletter: April Issue

Each year, Spring Production serves as the season-culminating celebration of our students' accomplishments, and we look forward to sharing these performances with you. Featuring our Main and Professional Training Divisions in Coppélia & Serenade and our Children's Division in Toyland, this season's performances bring our school community together for a remarkable end to the Academy Year.

Spring Production Volunteers Needed

For those of you who have been behind the scenes at Spring Production in years past, you know it takes a village to care for and support our students backstage. Many thanks to those of you who’ve already signed up! We would love to enlist more support for our passionate and dedicated volunteer crew, with space still available in most roles and shifts. For our Children’s Division shows, we’ve also added some new sign-up slots for particular classes still in need of support.

All volunteers will still have the opportunity to see their student(s) perform. Spring Production volunteers receive a free ticket to the production. Our staff, faculty and students are endlessly grateful for the care you offer our students and the integral role you play in making Spring Production such a success!

Please visit the links below to indicate your volunteer availability:

Children's Division

Don’t forget! Costumes will be distributed for Children’s Division students during the week of April 22-28.

During that week, please make sure a parent or guardian picks your student up from class. Costumes will be given to parents or guardians ONLY, and a signature will be required designating the costume has been received. More details about costumes were sent in the first Children’s Division Spring Production packet.

Main Division

The final detailed schedule for Main Division weekend rehearsals was emailed on March 21, with weekend rehearsals beginning the weekend of April 13-14.

A detailed schedule for Theater Week Rehearsals and Performances (May 13 - 18) will be provided at a later date – stay tuned!

Staying Informed

As we get closer to our Spring Production performance weekend, we’ll continue to share more information with Academy families. The latest informational packets for all Academy students were emailed on March 8, and the next round will be coming your way at the end of April or beginning of May.

Missed or misplaced something? We post all updates on our Academy Resources website under the PERFORMANCES heading.

Summer Programs

It’s going to be a busy and exciting summer at the Academy! All summer programs are now open for registration, and there’s something for everyone!

Summer Intensive

Our program has officially reached capacity, but we’re looking to open some new program spots soon. If you haven’t yet made your summer training plans and are interested in studying with Cincinnati Ballet’s resident and guest faculty, we encourage you to sign up online for the waitlist for your program session of choice. We’ll then be in touch if space becomes available.

Youth Summer Intensive

If you’re hoping to join us for Youth Summer Intensive, we encourage you to register ASAP. We hope to have the opportunity to support your training this summer, but certain sessions are filling quickly. If your program of choice is sold out, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up online for a waitlist.

Summer Bridge

Registration is now open!

Our NEW Level 1 Summer Bridge is for students who will transition from CD3 to Main Division Level 1 in Fall 2019. For Levels 3 and up, Summer Bridge aims to keep students in peak physical condition between summer and school year training.

Kids Dance Camp

It’s not too late to sign up for Storybook Summer 2019. Over three week-long adventures, Kids Dance Camp will immerse young dancers ages 4-8 in the beloved worlds of The Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, and Snow White. Space is still available in all sessions, but this wildly popular summer camp has been known to sell out, so secure your spot today!
