Just Announced!
Dear ,
We invite you to explore the legendary sparkle of stars—and sip something sparkling as you do.
Join us for our next Mingle at the Museum at the African Art Museum as Christine Mullen Kreamer, the museum’s deputy director and the curator of African Cosmos, provides behind-the-scenes insights into this groundbreaking exhibition of objects and art from all over Africa.
Listen as Katrien Kolenberg of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, explains how stars’ oscillations can be translated into the rhythms you’ll hear played by an African drum circle.
While you enjoy this starry, starry night of science, socializing, and art, try your hand at:
-
Crafting an adinkra-inspired fabric
-
Charting a constellation
-
Creating some stellar origami
One drink ticket for a specialty cocktail or non-alcoholic beverage and light hors d’oeuvres is included with admission. A cash bar offers a specialty cocktail, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the evening.
Light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Must be at least 21 with a valid photo ID to attend.
