Join us in January for this opera which explores a universal rite of passage — the night before a wedding, girlfriends gather to prepare the bride. Opening night has sold out, but tickets are still available for Jan. 13 (2 p.m.), Jan. 16 (8 p.m), Jan. 18 (8 p.m.) and Jan. 19 (8 p.m.).
We have officially reached the end of this year's Endowment Campaign, with $160,532 raised. A huge thank-you to everyone who contributed, and to board member Francis Price for his enthusiasm and dedication to driving the campaign.
We continue with our end-0f-year donation campaign, as less than 50 per cent of our budget is covered by ticket sales and government support. Corporate and individual donations make up the rest, and gifts of all size make an impact.
Support the opera
Share the magic of opera with friends and family, by purchasing Opera Duo packs as gifts this holiday season. The package includes tickets to both of the remaining mainstage productions, Les Contes d'Hoffmann and Eugene Onegin. Offenbach's dark fairytale tells the story of three women the poet Hoffmann has loved (and lost), while Tchaikovsky's opera incorporates elements of drama, beauty, romantic obsession and regrets, culminating in a heartbreaking chain of events.
Hearing opera singers on stage at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium is one thing, but we invite you to a sneak preview of the talents of the cast of Les Contes d'Hoffmann, during brunch on Jan. 20, 2013. Enjoy great food at the Sutton Place Hotel, followed by short performances by the current cast. Call our box office at 780.429.1000 to purchase tickets.
