~Edmonton's NextGen is an initiative of the City of Edmonton that seeks unique ways to encourage the next gen demographic to volunteer and give back to their community, explores ideas that connect people to their city and each other and are catalyzers of ideas and connections!~

Timeraiser

We are looking for artwork to auction at Timeraiser. If you are an artist in Edmonton consider submitting a piece of artwork.

And we are looking for non-profits who are in need of volunteers and are interested in being part of Timeraiser!

Timeraiser supports emerging Canadian artists and nonprofit organizations. In a nutshell, Timeraiser is a silent art auction where attendees bid volunteer time, not dollars, for original art. In addition to supporting emerging artists (each work of art is purchased at market price), Timeraiser wants to foster and celebrate volunteerism nationally and in local communities.

Timeraiser is a win-win-win. Artists get paid. Nonprofits connect with skilled volunteers. Skilled people put their time to good use.

Timeraiser is taking place on Saturday, June 1 and tickets can be purchased here.

We're Looking for PKN Presenters!

Interested in sharing the sound of your chit chat? We’d love to hear it! Edmonton’s NextGen is looking for presenters for Pecha Kucha Night 34 (PKN 34), scheduled for early June 2019.

Submit your presentation idea for PKN 34 to Edmonton's NextGen by Tuesday, April 16, 2019 and join the conversation

PKN speakers present their ideas with the help of 20 images shown for 20 seconds each, for a maximum presentation time of 6 min x 40 sec. This format keeps presentations fast-paced, concise and entertaining.

Edmonton’s Pecha Kucha Nights have reached audiences of engaged and creative young people on wide-ranging topics – from high rise towers dancing like J.Lo to why pineapples are the most interesting fruit to being part of the solution to youth homelessness – and everything in between.

Ask About Edmonton

The City is encouraging residents to “ask about Edmonton” during the Alberta 2019 election campaign. Share your own questions using #askaboutYEG.

During the Alberta election, the City of Edmonton encourages all parties and all candidates to discuss the important economic, environmental and social matters that will impact our city and the lives of Edmontonians.

Edmonton is a major contributor to Alberta’s economy and quality of life. Our City needs support from the provincial government — especially on large infrastructure projects — to manage growth, prosper and thrive. City-building depends on support from the province.

Provincial elections are an opportunity for Edmontonians to ask about the priorities of all provincial parties and candidates. Edmonton residents can champion their city and ask about the issues important to them and to their city. Edmontonians should know how the provincial parties and candidates plan to keep our city’s momentum going.

Feel free to share your own questions on social media using the #askaboutYEG hashtag.
