Take a stroll through an aural exhibition with your Colorado Symphony and Music Director Brett Mitchell as we explore Mussorgsky’s crowning composition as orchestrated by Ravel. Featuring musical depictions of ten paintings by his late friend Viktor Hartmann, Mussorgsky’s work illustrates the moods of an art lover sauntering from piece to piece through a museum.
"While performing the entire track list of The Soft Bulletin, the Flaming Lips and the Colorado Symphony wove a musical tapestry in Boettcher Concert Hall," says Westword's Chris Walker of Friday's performance featuring the psychedelic rock band with the Colorado Symphony & Chorus. Even a snowstorm couldn't dampen the vivacity and eccentricity of the sold out show.
Here's a spoonful of sugar for you: Disney's 1964 classic film Mary Poppins is coming to Boettcher March 8! See the entire film projected on the big screen while your Colorado Symphony and Associate Conductor Christopher Dragon perform the famous score live.
