In many ways, the character closest to Puccini's heart was Liu, a dedicated servant girl in Turandot — he died just after writing her final scene of sacrifice. She is likewise adored by audiences, and is an integral part of Turandot's own journey to find love.
Our production features Michele Capalbo in the role, who talks about her interpretation of Liu on this week's blog. She is set to win Edmonton audiences' hearts with an emotional and moving performance of this beautiful character!
