"A raucous, immensely moving comedy with a fresh, impish voice." The New York Times | View in browser
ABOUT THE PLAY:
Vietgone, an acclaimed new play written by El Dorado native Qui Nguyen, comes to the Natural State after sold-out runs in New York City and theatres across the country. Set in Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, Vietgone is a modern twist on the All-American love story, that pulses with contemporary energy. It’s the classic boy meets girl – except this boy and girl are refugees from the Vietnam War newly settled in a relocation camp.
Borrowing from up-to-the-minute popular culture to recreate the playwright’s own parents’ meeting, Vietgone ranges from hilarity to heart-wrenching drama, giving a unique representation of the immigrant experience.
