GET THE INSIDE SCOOP

For this episode of Architecture Essentials, let’s meet CAC Senior Manager of Education and Experience Angela Esposito in the ArcelorMittal Design Studio to learn about interior design. Formerly one herself, Esposito explains how interior designers work in collaboration with architects—and the ways in which they’re like librarians and detectives.

No Small Plans

BIG PLANS AVAILABLE

In partnership with Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Public Library, the CAC developed “No Small Plans” as a contemporary analogue to “Wacker’s Manual”—a 1911 textbook on urban planning that remained in school curricula for more than two decades. Order your copy of “No Small Plans” today to encourage civic engagement for the next generation.

Navy Pier ballroom

ROOM TO CELEBRATE

“Built by the city and owned by the city for the people,” Navy Pier has been a lakefront icon since 1916. At its far eastern end is the majestic Aon Grand Ballroom, the setting for countless personal and cultural milestones. CAC docent Sabra Goldman tells its story.
