2019-2020 Carriage House Concerts
Get ready for a new season of Carriage House shows!
Summer will be over before you know it, but that just means the start of our fall and winter season is about to begin! This includes the exciting 2019-2020 Carriage House Concert Series in our indoor, 300-seat venue. These shows are so intimate, you'll feel like each artist is performing in your own living room.
First on the schedule is the legendary rock supergroup The Hit Men on Thursday, October 3 at 7:30pm. This ensemble of incredible performers played and recorded for decades alongside Frankie Valli, Carole King, Cat Stevens, Three Dog Night, The Turtles, The Who, and other mega-star acts of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. You won't want to miss this show!
The rest of the season features a wide range of performances in genres from rock to country to folk to jazz, plus comedy, storytelling, multimedia, magic, and more. Take a look at the calendar and you'll be sure to find something you'll love. But get your tickets early, because most of these shows will sell out!

The Mending Project
Come Together for The Mending Project
Join us from September 19-December 8 as we present artist Lee Mingwei's participatory art installation, The Mending Project
The Mending Project uses thread, color, and sewing as a point of departure to create meaningful connections between strangers and bring people together in conversation.
Bring a garment or textile in need of repair and a volunteer “mender” will invite you to sit and talk while they creatively mend your item. Garments may remain in the installation space as part of the art work.
Watch the video above to learn more about this exciting work, then get started selecting any items you have that might need a little bit of mending. We hope you'll join us in coming together as a community!

Supporting the Arts: Gregory Sale's "Future IDs" exhibition
Get involved and support the arts
A key element of Montalvo's mission is to act as a catalyst in exploring the arts. We do this not only through our public events and education programs, but also through our Sally & Don Lucas Artists Residency Program, which offers artists from around the world an opportunity be creative right here on our beautiful grounds.
Your contribution to Montalvo supports these artists and the incredible work they do. It can also give you unique ways to explore the arts yourself: donors at certain levels receive invitations to our exclusive ArtVentures -- local, national, and international trips to visit with artists, see collections, and get inspired. Our next trip is available to donors at the $1,000 level and above and will give you the chance to visit LAP Fellow Gregory Sale's exhibition Future IDs on Alcatraz as well as a private collection, plus lunch at Petit Crenn.
Another way you can support our artists is by joining our Friends of the LAP. These advocates, donors, and partners keep the residency program running year after year. Visit this page to learn more about the LAP and download an information packet, or contact Emma Moon for additional details.
