EO Chorus members Christina O'Dell and Janine Bremault-Bamford sound tres formidable in anticipation of their noon performance Friday, Sept. 4 at Southgate Centre, as part of Parisian Fridays. Join us at Centre Court for a performance (and there'll be an opportunity to build Parisian landmarks out of Lego afterwards)!
With the arrival of September, Alberta Culture Days isn't far off! We'll be performing as part of the Edmonton Galleria Arts and Culture Showcase on Sept. 26, in the south parking lot of the Epcor Tower, at noon and 2 p.m. Admission is free, but please bring a donation for the food bank.
Opera 101 returns this season at CKUA in the beautifully restored Alberta Hotel, 9804 Jasper Ave. Join us for refreshments and a multi-disciplinary panel discussing the context of The Merry Widow, Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. This is a complimentary event, but please RSVP your space ahead of time as this event often fills quickly.
If you ask us, it's best to head down to the ESO's Symphony in the City early on Friday in Churchill Square — not only to secure a good spot, but to catch tenor Andrea Pinna performing at 5 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. in front of the Winspear Centre. Did we mention that the entire event (also running Saturday night) is free?
Experience the different aspects of opera with free performances and workshops from Edmonton Opera at Kingsway Mall, Sept. 27 from noon until 4 p.m. Soloists and the EO chorus will perform at noon and 2 p.m., with dance workshops led by Dave Ganert (choreographer for The Merry Widow) at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Not only does our chorus sound fabulous on stage, but they have an incredible talent of taking any music and making it sound amazing — including our national anthem. The chorus will perform the anthem at the Edmonton Eskimos game on Sept. 26, before the Eskimos take on the B.C. Lions at 2 p.m.
