This beautifully crafted series offers a rare opportunity to hear all of Britten’s String Quartets, alongside powerful works by his teacher, Bridge, and by Purcell, his greatest influence.

Robin Michael performs the spectacular Suites for Solo Cello, written for Mstislav Rostropovich, and Nicholas Daniel is the oboist in the colourful Metamorphoses.

The series also features an illustrated pre-concert talk with composer David Matthews & Dante Quartet.

The Allegri Quartet perform the early Beethoven String Quartet in A along with the late A minor Quartet, Op. 132. Shostakovich’s Seventh Quartet completes the programme.

There will also be a free Pre-Concert Talk with Dr Robert Hanson at 5pm - please call the Box Office on 020 7520 1490 to reserve your seat.

Celebrating Debussy
16 & 17 February / 7.30pm

Peerless interpreters Pascal & Ami Rogé mark the 50th anniversary of Debussy's birth, highlighting works composed by Debussy throughout his life.

As well as Images, selected Preludes and the ever popular Clair de lune, there will be a rare chance to hear the duet versions of La Mer & Nocturnes.

The renowned British viola piano duo perform as part of Jewish Book Week. Joachim's evocative Hebrew Melodies, on poems by Byron, are presented with Mendelssohn’s early sonata from 1824 & two beautiful fantasias on folk songs.

Turner Ensemble
Sunday 5 February / 6.30pm

The Turner Ensemble, perform oboe quartets by Czech master Martinu (from 1947) & by Mozart, composed in 1780 for Friedrich Ramm, a virtuoso oboist in the Munich orchestra. The concert finishes with Mendelssohn’s wonderfully passionate Piano Trio in D minor.
