Children's Division Spring Registration Now Open

Spring Semester: January 6 - May 9

Spring registration is now open on the website. Students in Parent/Tot, Creative Dance 1 & 2 and Pre-Ballet 1 & 2 will need to register for Spring Semester classes. Please register your child for the same level they were in for the Fall Semester.

Students who are currently registered in Ballet 1 — Pre-Professional Division do not need to register for the upcoming Spring semester as these are year-long classes.

Students in the Children’s Division will learn and practice dances during their regularly scheduled class time to present at the Student Showcase on May 9, 2020.

Introducing David Watson, Security Guard

Join us in welcoming our new Security Guard, David Watson. David was born in Denver and has lived here ever since. He has been a competitive martial artist from a young age spending a great deal of time training and competing as a young man. After becoming a father in 2015 and graduating from Metro State University the following year, he found himself in the security field working multiple challenging duties throughout the city. Later, he was hired as overnight head of security for the second largest hotel in Denver. David's daughter began attending Colorado Ballet in the fall of 2018. After taking a step back from working full time to help his wife run her acupuncture practice, David jumped at the opportunity to provide security for his daughter’s school.

Pick-Up/Drop-Off Reminders

We understand the frustration with limited parking but have to work within guidelines that will keep the area clear and our students safe. We wanted to remind everyone that the following are not permitted:

1. Parking in the fire lane next to the sidewalk for any amount of time – at NO time should your car be left parked in the fire lane.

2. Parking in the accessible ramp area next to the doors – this must remain clear for those who need access to the ramp.

3. Idling in the parking lot – the pick-up and drop-off is intended to be a quick operation (think of it like the airport) and idling cars also create dangerous fumes.

4. Idling/waiting in a manner that does not allow other cars to quickly pick-up and drop-off, including backing up cars into the alley and onto 11th. We ask that you pull as far forward as possible along the sidewalk to allow other cars access to the lot.

5. Late pick-ups beyond 15 minutes: Due to staffing and security needs, students must be picked up within 15 minutes of the end of their class or rehearsal. Late pick-ups may result in a charge of $15.00/15-minute block.

We encourage you to park on the neighboring streets and walk in to drop-off/pick-up your student. For many of you arriving for the afternoon/evening classes, there is parking available on Santa Fe, Kalamath & 11th (west of Kalamath).

If you are arriving after 6:00pm, any open spot in the parking lot is available.

We appreciate your help in this matter.

Play a Role in Keeping the Magic Alive!

For decades, Colorado Ballet’s The Nutcracker has created an enchanting world each holiday season. You have watched in wonder as Drosselmeyer brings giant dolls to life, cheered for Clara as she helps fight the Rat King and been swept up in the magic of the Land of the Sweets.

Originally built in the 1980s, Colorado Ballet purchased the used Nutcracker sets and costumes in 2005. After 15 years of making our stage sparkle, the current sets and costumes are ready to be retired.

Help bring new sets and costumes to the stage in 2020 and keep the magic alive for generations to come.

Shorten Your List to Skip the Stress

It’s easy (and satisfying) to make a lengthy holiday to-do list. It’s much harder to complete all the tasks you’ve given yourself. Manage your expectations and cut back on a few things to create holiday season memories that matter.
