Academy Principal Domenico Luciano and Academy Students by Francisco Estevez

Academy Staff Updates

We are excited to officially announce our new Academy Principal, Mr. Domenico Luciano. Mr. Domenico danced for Colorado Ballet as a principal for seven years before transitioning to this role in April. He brings diverse experience as a performer and methods of training to the Academy. Mr. Domenico has graced us with classical purity in the classroom as well as in his choreography, and we are thrilled to have him as a full time member of our team! Please read more about Mr. Domenico.

It has come time to say goodbye to our Academy Administrator of two years, Sarah Paul, and welcome a new face, Megan Lay. Megan recently graduated from Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA and is super excited to begin working for Colorado Ballet Academy as our new Administrator.

Congratulations, CBA Students!

On behalf of the entire staff of Colorado Ballet Academy, we would like to congratulate the cast of Giselle! We are still on cloud nine thinking about all of the beauty that filled the Ellie on May 25. It was so exciting to see how every dancer improved their technique and grew artistically with each rehearsal and performance.

Colorado Ballet Academy has had an incredible year! One of our happiest achievements this season was to receive the Outstanding School award from Youth America Grand Prix. We had over 50 students, ages 9-19, perform at YAGP, showing a large span in age and level from our school. This recognition is a testament to our distinguished and accomplished faculty, as well as our dedicated students and families.

Looking Ahead

Our Academy team strives to provide excellence in dance training to help each child reach his or her potential. In keeping with the standards of elite schools in the field, improvements are made each year to ensure that Colorado Ballet Academy grows with the ever-changing requirements of dancers today. Levels 2-7 will see a slight increase in training hours and class offerings for the 2019/20 year as we continue to commit to prepare students for the demands of a 21st century artist. Other dreams and developments are in the works, and we will keep you updated as they come to fruition.

Thank you for your commitment to Colorado Ballet Academy. Your support for your children and their love of dance will come back as rewards in many ways. We hope you have a summer filled with family, relaxation and dance. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

The Colorado Ballet Academy Team

Outdoor Adventures with Kids

With the right preparation, families can have a grand time in the grandeur of Colorado — even with little kids. Outdoorsman, pediatric sports medicine specialist and (most importantly) father of triplets Aaron Provance, MD, explains how to set your outing up for success.

Do You Really Want to "Unleash the Beast?"

Energy drinks are heavily marketed to kids, often by the athletes they admire. After all, if they drink it, it must be good for playing sports. Right? Clinical nutrition expert Laura Watne, MS, RD, isn’t so sure.
