Make a difference to a young person’s life - and receive free training

Loud and Clear Volunteers

Becoming a Loud and Clear Volunteer is an opportunity to support young people who are leaving care to access a range of opportunities at Sage Gateshead.

Volunteer Mentors will support young people, building positive relationships and social networks with others, developing skills and confidence to help them make the transition from care to independent living. We are recruiting 30 Volunteer Mentors who will be carefully matched with care leavers according to their interests, skills and experience.

The volunteers will receive training to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed.

Loud and Clear Volunteers is a social action project, delivered by Sage Gateshead, Gateshead Council and Newcastle City Council. For any queries, email: LACV@sagegateshead.com

Young people leaving care can feel isolated and lonely and they sometimes need extra support to form and maintain new relationships and feel confident in the wider world.
Volunteer Mentors will support a care leaver to access a wide range of opportunities, which might include Sage Gateshead’s Young People’s Action Group, music classes and workshops, gigs and performances, festivals and events, work experience and Programmes of Study, and sign-posting to FE and HE courses.
