Academy Newsletter: October Issue

First Class Free

This fall, the Academy invites new students ages 2 through 9 to try their first class FREE! If you know someone who’s ready to schedule a free class, please direct them to the link below or contact the Academy staff at 513.562.1111 or cbacademy@cballet.org. If a friend you refer enrolls in classes for the year, a $20 tuition credit is yours as a thank you!

Parents Association

First General Meeting

The Parents Association’s inaugural meeting will be held on Saturday, October 13, at 10:00 AM in the Ballet Center lobby. We’ll introduce you to some of our leaders, host a Bun 101 workshop, and share opportunities for specific ways to be involved this year. No need to RSVP. We hope to see you there to kick off another fantastic year!

Open House - Thank you!

Many thanks to the students and parents who volunteered at last month’s Open House and brought friends to introduce to our Cincinnati Ballet community. This inaugural event was an unequivocal success, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

On Stage

Peter Pan
October 25 - 28 @ Music Hall

Take flight with this classic story filled with pixie dust, Lost Boys, Captain Hook, swashbuckling pirates, a very hungry crocodile, and – of course – Peter Pan, the boy who wouldn’t grow up. A special bonus for Academy families: this is the first opportunity of the season to see some of our own students dancing with the Company. We wish all our Young Performers well in rehearsals and on stage! Don't forget, Academy families receive a discount on tickets!

In-Step Program in Action

Cincinnati Ballet is dedicated to bringing the power of dance out into the community this year in full force! In order to increase our reach and create the audiences of the future, we are focusing on our CincyDance! schools.

So far this school year our PTD and CB2 dancers have performed for over 500 students. Our dancers will be going out once a week to dance with children all over the city!

Special Opportunities

Greater Cincinnati Dance Alliance - Dance and Musical Theater College Fair

The Greater Cincinnati Dance Alliance will host its 7th annual Dance and Musical Theater College Fair on Sunday, October 7, from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the School for Creative and Performing Arts. The event is free and open to current high school students and is an excellent opportunity to meet representatives from schools across the country.

Summer Intensive Audition Photo Day

Is your dancer making plans to audition for Summer Intensive programs next summer? If so, they may be interested in participating in our first Summer Intensive Photo Day on Sunday, November 18. Hosted by the Parents Association, it’s an opportunity to have professional photos taken for their audition portfolio for a flat fee.
