Audition for Honk Jr. and Head to the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, GA  | View in browser

Final audition opportunity is Saturday, September 29th!

Honk! Jr

Grades 4–8

September 29, 2018 from 6:30- 7pm

Students will fly to Atlanta, GA to present 15 minutes of the show for Broadway professionals at the Junior Theater Festival over MLK, Jr. weekend, and then return home to perform on the ATMTC professional stage in Glen Echo, MD. The program begins right after the Christmas holiday, and culminates about a month later: a whirlwind once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students!

About the Show:

Honk! is a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Ugly Duckling, incorporating a message of inclusion. Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother’s protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.
