We've got delicious hors d'oeuvres, fine wine, and incredible live performances in store for you – check out what musical surprises each garden has to offer below. Join us at Edmonton's most elegant summer garden party, happening on Friday, June 23 at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden.

Kurimoto Japanese Garden

The opening performance of Opera al Fresco is brought to you by the talented Victoria School of the Arts Elementary Choir led by conductor Angela McKeown. They will warm your hearts by singing popular pieces from Oliver and The Sound of Music.

Alpine Garden

Soprano Cara Brown and tenor Ron Long will entertain you with their crackling chemistry — get ready to hear the music of Poulence, Lehár, and even some ABBA and West Side Story. You can also enjoy a delicious Ancient Grains Salad served in a bamboo boat!

Primula Dell

This intimate, fragrant garden is the perfect location for opera classics performed by Cristina Weiheimer, Sanja Garanis, Tatiana Stanishich and Teaan van Zijl. You'll hear 'The Flower Duet' from Lakmé (Delibes), 'May the wind be gentle' from Così fan tutte (Mozart), and more.

Pine Pavilion

Our beloved Edmonton Opera Chorus will celebrate Canada 150 with spirited renditions of 'The log driver's waltz', 'Four strong winds', and 'This is my home'. You're welcome to sing along with these Canadian favourites!

Kopernikus at the Banff Centre

Kopernikus, a chamber opera by Montreal-born composer Claude Vivier, is unlike any opera ever written. Vivier created a new sound by constantly seeking answers to simple questions: Where do we come from? Where are we going?

In this new production, an all-Canadian creative team explore this message – that we need not fear death. Written in 1980, Kopernikus is a timeless work in which the cosmos symbolizes the afterlife. So take a weekend trip down to the scenic Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity and ponder the meaning of life with Kopernikus
