SANTA BARBARA REVELS PRESENTS

The Christmas Revels: An Irish Celebration of the Winter Solstice

A rich and colorful theatrical production, this year’s The Christmas Revels: An Irish Celebration of the Winter Solstice honors the spirit and courage of the emigrants of the early 1900’s who came to make their lives in America. Strangers when they board the ship, at sea over the holidays, they share special songs, stories, dances, and seasonal traditions on the journey to their new country, and they become a community: friendships are formed, romance blossoms, and life lessons are learned.

We feature Santa Barbara’s finest actors, vocalists, and instrumentalists, along with our adult, teen, and children’s choruses and the Pacific Sword Company. Our other guest artists include a world champion Irish dancer, Alanna Callaghan, and colleagues from Ventura’s awarding-winning Claddagh School. These diverse elements make The Christmas Revels an exciting and heart-warming holiday experience that has been a Santa Barbara tradition for the past 11 years!
