HONOLULU, HAWAI‘IAn earlier version of this press release featured a mistake to the costume rules. The below rules are what you are not allowed to do at the event. The corrected version is as follows:

The time has come—it's both Halloween and the end of this year's ARTafterDARK schedule! Guests are welcomed to celebrate the spooky holiday at ARTafterDARK: 'CarnEvil' on Oct. 26. This festive event is sponsored by iichiko.

DJ Tittahbyte will be spinning hits in Luce Courtyard while DJ Davey Shinding holds down Central Courtyard.

Guests can capture the evening forever by stopping by the photobooth by the iichiko bar in Palm Courtyard.

In Kinau Courtyard there will be an immersive, panoramic photobooth by Time Stoppers 360.

From 8-8:30pm, Halloween enthusiasts and guests alike can head towards Central Courtyard for a costume contest held by Emcee Sean Douglas Hoban and judged by memberes of the AAD Committee. The four categories include: best male costume, best female costume, best CarnEvil-themed costume and best group costume. Contest participants are invitation only, committee members will seek out the best costumes. There will also be prizes: HoMA goody bags!

Food will be provided by EAT Honolulu, and will include: a maple chicken slider; skinned and seared locally caught kajiki; slow-roasted swine; "pumpkin patch" stew and a butternut tart.

Free Spirits Mobile Bartenders will be in attendance to serve drinks.

Costume rules are as below:

We love for people to come in costume—especially art-related costumes!—but we also have some strict rules, with no exceptions. The following are NOT allowed on site:

• Weapons (real or toy) including but not limited to guns, swords, bows and arrows, staffs, clubs, and axes.

• Costume accessories larger than 15 inches, including but not limited to wings, canes, tools, umbrellas. These items should be left at home or in the patrons' vehicles. We do have limited space behind the front desk for those who need to check in items.

• Masks

HoMA has the right to refuse the entrance of anyone whose costume is deemed inappropriate and interferes with the above rules.

MOBILE CHECK-IN

Members who download the HoMA app can skip the line and glide right into the event using their digital membership card. All they have to do is search “Honolulu Museum of Art” in the Apple App Store or Google Play, download the app, and go to “My account” to log in and view their already activated digital membership cards.
