SFJAZZ and Noise Pop are excited to partner again to co-present four eclectic jazz-inspired acts, as a part of this year's Noise Pop Festival.


The Onyx

The Onyx is an Oakland-based all black female six member music ensemble that blends r&b, rock, electronic and Latin music. This collective came together to solidify unity among women of color and to provide an artistic outlet for the female voice to be heard.

Barrio Manouche

Barrio Manouche is an acoustic San Francisco-Based international Septet that combines the instrumentation and signature rhythms of jazz, flamenco and 1930s Gypsy swing.

Resavoir

Resavoir is a diverse collective of Chicago instrumentalists led by Will Miller. The core lineup features Miller on trumpet/synths, Irvin Pierce on saxophone, Akenya Seymour on keys/vocals, Lane Beckstrom on bass, Peter Manheim on drums and Jeremy Cunningham on drums. They perform music off their 2019 International Anthem debut, in which Pitchfork describes as "crisp beats, sunny 1960s pop, expertly arranged jazz-funk and experimental electronic textures."

Salami Rose Joe Louis

Salami Rose Joe Louis is a multi-instrumentalist producer, who's latest recording Zdenka 2080 on Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder label made it's way on numerous "best of 2019" lists. Drawing influences from jazz, soul, hip-hop, Shuggie Otis, Captain Beefheart, Stereolab, and R. Stevie Moore, she creates a blend of experimental dreamy sounds with jazz influenced vocals and piano. For these shows, she will be accompanied by an expansive nine-piece band.
