Our 50 Days of Opera launch was very well-attended on Friday, Sept. 13, at noon, so thank you to everyone who came, including Mayor Stephan Mandel and culture minister Heather Klimchuk! The Edmonton Opera chorus proved they're not only great singers but great dancers as well — chorus member Francis Price got minister Klimchuk dancing for the last number — and we were presented with a 50th anniversary plaque by Mayor Mandel. The participation of the Enterprise Quartet and the Johann Strauss Ball Dancers rounded out the lunch hour quite nicely.
50 Days of Opera continues until Oct. 31, with performances, lectures and opera activities throughout the city, including an ongoing, online scavenger hunt with the chance to win Salome tickets. Full event listings can be found here.
