Following a remarkable year of events led by Waking The Feminists, I would like to invite you to attend a practical day-long working session that will aim to identify changes that all of us can make, to achieve equality of opportunity for women working in our industry.
At this first meeting, I hope that together we will be able to establish simple outcomes that will inform the sector’s thinking on gender equality and the issues facing us all. I also hope that this meeting will help contribute to improving industry standards of gender equality across Irish theatre.
This is an open invitation to any artist, practitioner or organisation who feels passionately about gender equality in our industry, anyone who would like an opportunity to influence how we as a community will turn our good intentions into action.
The event will take place at the Abbey Theatre and will be hosted by myself, but the topics we discuss and the particular complex issues we examine will be entirely determined by you.
