THIS WEEK: The Grammy Award-winning Emerson String Quartet is back for another season at the Smithsonian! Come and witness the technical prowress and intensity the music quartet is world famous for. The season opener will feature music from Mozart and Beethoven and is sure to be a night filled with musical magic.   

NEW PROGRAM: Join arts editor Colleen Fay as she explores the career and works of 19th-century Italian opera composer Giuseppe Verdi. Through CD and DVD recordings, you'll learn how the composer was able to overcome personal misfortune to create some of opera's beloved masterpieces.
