Just announced! Award-winning composer Danny Elfman will be in attendance for the Colorado premiere of his Concerto for Violin and Orchestra with violinist Sandy Cameron. Elfman will also host a Prelude & Talkback, informative audience Q&As, at the Friday, May 17 performance only.
Elfman has composed the scores to numerous iconic film scores across four decades, including Tim Burton’s Batman and The Nightmare Before Christmas. “Eleven Eleven” is Elfman’s first freestanding orchestral work.
Brett Mitchell and your Colorado Symphony close out the season with Carl Orff’s powerhouse Carmina Burana, a symphonic exploration of love, lust, and the perils of earthly pleasures. Featuring the Colorado Symphony Chorus, Colorado Children’s Chorale, and a cast of soloists, Carmina Burana is a true spectacle and one of the most well known pieces of the 20th century.
The Guild Shop, open pre-concert and during intermission at most Symphony concerts, is operated by the Colorado Symphony Guild—a volunteer group of orchestra enthusiasts that give back through their efforts.
