Dear Ushers,
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING VERY CAREFULLY AS SOME RULES HAVE CHANGED
We are happy to announce that we are now booking Usher slots for Wayside Motor Inn by A.R. Gurney here at The Pershing Square Signature Center.
You may book yourself into this show by clicking the link at the bottom of the email and following the directions.
To book yourself simply choose which date to usher for each show. We book four ushers per date. Once you’ve submitted your form with your selected date, you can log in and follow the link again to book a friend. You will receive an email confirming the date you’ve chosen, and that shift will no longer be available to choose online. *Be very sure to enter your email address correctly, otherwise you will not receive the confirmation email. Also, please add ushers@signaturetheatre.org to your address book so that the confirmation email does not go to your spam folder.
You may only sign up for one other person. Anyone who signs up for more than two shifts with the same contact information will lose that shift. Only select a date you are available to usher. If you have to cancel your slot you must give us at least 48 hours of notice. If you cancel with less than 48 hours of notice you must provide a replacement usher otherwise we reserve the right to remove you from our usher list.
Please take a moment to review our expectations for our volunteer ushers, listed below:
- You MUST be able to stay for the whole performance
- You MUST stay at the theatre and be ready to work through any and all intermissions.
- You must arrive at the theatre 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to the time of the show. Please be on time. If you suspect you will be late, you must contact the house manager BEFORE the 1h 15m call time. The best way to do this is via email at ushers@signaturetheatre.org,
- When you arrive gather by the small lobby next to the Griffin theatre closest to the windows.
- You must arrive READY TO WORK (i.e. having already eaten, dressed in all black, and have ended all cell phone conversations)
- Please be mindful that we have a limited amount of space and arrive with as few personal belongings as possible. There are some small lockers available but you must bring your own lock.
- You MUST be able to walk up and down stairs.
- Please remember that your compensation for volunteering is FREE ADMISSION to the show you volunteer. Although we make every effort to seat our ushers, you should be prepared to stand for the duration of the show.
Failure to meet these expectations can result in dismissal from a volunteer shift or loss of ushering privileges at The Pershing Square Signature Center.
